Steadys Shinin Spark is an exciting addition to the Ressler Ranch broodmare program, bringing together generations of influential reining, cutting, and working cow-horse genetics. Purchased from Frank Dillon in 2026, she represents the kind of established performance breeding we value as we continue developing our rope-horse and reined cow-horse program.

She is sired by Steady Tradition, an AQHA Reserve World Champion Senior Working Cow Horse and Congress Open Reining Futurity Champion. A son of the legendary Smart Little Lena, Steady Tradition combines cutting ability with proven reining and cow-horse performance.

Her dam, Papadocs Shiner, brings the influence of Shining Spark, one of the most respected sires in Western performance history. This maternal line adds reining and working cow-horse genetics to an already impressive paternal pedigree.

Steadys Shining Spark was purchased bred to HA Smoke Em (AQHA #6307581), a 2023 stallion sired by A Vintage Smoke and out of In The Steps Of Chex, by Wimpys Little Step. This mating introduces another generation of modern reining genetics, combining the influence of A Vintage Smoke and Wimpys Little Step with the established Smart Little Lena and Shining Spark bloodlines carried by our mare.

We are especially excited about the potential of this cross. Our goal is to produce horses with the athleticism, trainability, responsiveness, and versatility to excel in the roping arena, reined cow-horse competition, and everyday ranch work.

Steadys Shinin Spark represents an exciting opportunity to incorporate proven performance bloodlines into the next generation of Ressler Ranch horses.
